Albert T. “Sal’ Lytle



            Albert T. “Sal” Lytle, 93, formerly of Finleyville, died Monday, March 14, 2016 at the home of his grandson in Hanover Township, Beaver County.

            He was born February 2, 1923 in Venetia; a son of William and Bertha Carney Lytle.

            Mr. Lytle was retired as a mechanic with the former Mathies Coal Company in Eighty-Four.

            He served in the U.S. Army’s 10th Armored Division under General Patton during WWII and was the recipient of a Bronze Star for Valor and two Purple Hearts and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and American Legion Post 613, both in Finleyville.

            Mr. Lytle was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed vacationing with family in Shawnee Park, fishing, playing poker, gardening, antiquing and going to auctions.

            Surviving are a son, Sam Lytle and his wife Linda of Finleyville; two daughters, Brenda Dunbar and her husband Ron and Joetta Yesionek and her husband Paul, both of Finleyville; seven grandchildren Tammy Bradley, Danny Ambrogi, Bobby McConnell, Jeri Kiggins, Jason Lytle, with whom he made his home, Jeff Lytle and Jackie Wilson; nineteen grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

            Deceased is his wife, Mary “Billie” Lytle, who died in February of 2015.

            Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Friday at Kegel Funeral Home, Inc., Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, David P. Kegel, director, 3560 Washington Avenue, Finleyville where a blessing service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 19, 2016 with Reverend Richard J. Tusky officiating.  Interment will follow in Finleyville Cemetery with full military honors accorded by Mon Valley Honor Guard and Firing Squad. American Legion Post 613 will conduct services at 7:00 P.M.
