Aleksander Ross “Saschie” Glod, 25, of Bonita Springs Florida, passed away on February 8, 2026.
Saschie was born on May 7, 2000, in Targovishte, Bulgaria and came to the U.S. with his forever family in August of 2002. He is remembered by all who knew him as a special person with a smile that lit up the room wherever he was.
Saschie is survived by his parents, Mark and Pattie Glod, and his sister Victoria Glod. He was a grandchild of the late Edward and Kathryn Glod and the late Owen and Carolyn Trattles. He loved coming to Pennsylvania to visit family and will be dearly missed by his aunts and uncles, cousins and extended family.
Friends were treasures to Saschie: he was fiercely loyal and supportive to his friends during both good times and challenges. Some of his best friends had been with him since pre-school.
Saschie wanted nothing more in life than to help people. He worked as a medical assistant and looked forward to returning to college to study either nursing or cognitive neuroscience. His patients often remarked on how caring he was.
Services will be held on Saturday May 16, 2026 at St. Benedict the Abbot Church (St. John XXIII Parish), 120 Abington Drive, McMurray. Greetings will be exchanged in O’Brien Hall beginning at 11 a.m., prior to a Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Interment will follow in Finleyville cemetery, followed by a repast back at the church in Pope Benedict Hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Aleksander’s name would be appreciated to Rise Alliance for Children (rise-alliance.org/Bulgaria).
Arrangements entrusted to Kegel Funeral Home, Inc. in Finleyville.
