Carole Jones

Carole A. (Smith) Jones, 78, of Bethel Park (formerly of Finleyville), died Thursday July 31, 2025, following a hard-fought and courageous battle with cancer.

She was born July 1, 1947, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Harry G. and Ruth (Drennen) Smith, II.

Carole married the love of her life, Robert P. Jones on August 7, 1965, who predeceased her August 30, 2019.

“Carole with an E” was retired, having spent the last thirty years in Office Administration at various local businesses. Her greatest enjoyment came from attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and concerts, never missing an opportunity to cheer them on and brag about their successes. She also loved playing bingo with her dear friends, Pat, Ruth, Theresa, and Fran at the Bethel Park Community Center.

Surviving are her two sons, Robert (April) Jones Jr. of Finleyville and Craig (Lynn) Jones of Bethel Park; her grandchildren, whom she adored, and two great-grandchildren. Having recently lost her brother, Butch, she is also survived by her dear sister-in-law, Patti Smith, of Boardman, Ohio, along with nephews, nieces, and an incredibly large number of cousins.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8pm Sunday in Kegel Funeral Home, Inc. David P. Kegel, Supervisor 3560 Washington Avenue Finleyville, where funeral services will begin at 12 Noon Monday with interment following in Finleyville Cemetery.
