Daniel L. O’Neill

            Daniel L. O’Neill, 71, of Venetia died Thursday, January 25, 2018 at his home.

            He was born April 16, 1946 in Pittsburgh; a son of the late Lloyd and Elizabeth Craig O’Neill.

            Mr. O’Neill was a 1964 graduate of Peters Township High School and was retired as a self-employed contractor.

            He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and a recipient of the Distinguished Service Cross.

Mr. O’Neill was a member of VFW Post 764 in McMurray, where he served as steward for twenty years, and American Legion Post 613 in Finleyville.

Surviving are his wife, Vicki Bishop O’Neill; a sister, Karen Bertges (Bill) of Baton Rouge, LA; a sister-in-law, Karen Fincham of Finleyville; several nieces and nephews; and his canine friends, ‘Minnie’ and ‘JR’.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Sunday at Kegel Funeral Home, Inc., Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, David P. Kegel, director, 3560 Washington Avenue, Finleyville, where services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 29, 2018.  Interment will follow in Finleyville with full military honors.  VFW and American Legion services will be held at 7:00 P.M. Sunday evening at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
