David Condie

David Condie, 93 of Finleyville passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, June 5, 2023.  Born on July 26, 1929 he was the son of the late Andrew and Anna (Young) Condie. 

He was a retired machinist, a member of the Mingo Creek Presbyterian Church, and a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, serving from 1951 to 1953.  He was an avid reader of history and loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and was an exceptional husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  He was the smartest person that his family knew and although he was sparse with his words, when he did speak it was always exactly what they needed to hear.  He taught them how to love and how to work and how to survive, lessons that will be carried on throughout current and future generations. 

David is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Betty (Russell) Condie; daughters, Lori (Keith) Barnes, of Nottingham Twp., June Dolanch, of Monongahela, and Amy (Jim) Lapp, of Washington; grandchildren, Heather (Kevin) Wallace, of Trafford, Tyler (Natalie) MacFarlane, of Pittsburgh, Kayrah Lapp, of Tennessee, Tim Lapp, of Washington, and Dean (Becky) Barnes; great-grandchildren, Xach, Levi, Rosie, Lylah, Rylan and Levi; and brother, Barry (Diana) Condie, of Finleyville. 

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by sisters, Margaret Ianno and Dora Simmons. 

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday, June 7 in the KEGEL FUNERAL HOME, 3560 Washington Ave., Finleyville, David P. Kegel, Supervisor.  Services will be at 3 PM (June 7 in between visitation sessions) in the funeral home with Pastor Matt Campion celebrating.  Interment will be private.
