Ellen Andrewson

Ellen S. (Cyphers) Gabauer-Andrewson passed away peacefully at Jennies Personal Care Home in Smock Pa. on 06/18/2025. She had lived in Finleyville Pa, but was orginally from Clairton Pa. She was born in 1936, one of three daughters to the late Jean and Ann (Hrapchak) Cyphers of Clairton Pa. Ellen worked many years in the grocery retail business, from Versharens, to Foodland, to Giant Eagle until finally retiring. After retiring her and her husband did some traveling and camping and when at home, she spent time canning from the garden and working in her flower beds. She loved her bingo nights and senior club with (The Forever Friends). Once a month she had dinner and socialized with old school friends from the past. She liked spending time with her family and friends. She saw good in everyone and was warm and kind to all. She was a member of St Francis Of Assisi Church in Finleyville. She is preceded in death by her late husband William Andrewson, first husband Elmer (Bucky) Gabauer and sister Joanne Sujeta. She is survived by and mother to Joseph (Sherry) Gabauer of Sayre Pa, Debbie (Dan Williams) Rusz of Venetia Pa, stepdaughter Robin Traveline of East Norriton Pa and sister Jean McBride of Jefferson Hills Pa, plus grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She will be missed very much. The family wishes to express our gratitude to the owners and staff at Jennies Personal Care home for the wonderful care she was given, and also the Amedisys team for their compassionate care in her final days. You all went above and beyond. Your kindness will not be forgotten. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8pm Sunday in Kegel Funeral Home, Inc. David P. Kegel, Supervisor 3560 Washington Avenue Finleyville.  A Mass of Christian Bural will be celebrated 10am Monday in St. Francis of Assisi Church (St. John XXIII Parish), Finleyville with interment following in Finleyville Cemetery.
