Ellis "Duke" Hall Obituary

Ellis M. “Duke” Hall, age 86 of Carroll Township, passed peacefully at home on March 15th.

Duke was born August 12, 1937 in Turtle Creek, PA, the son of the late Ellis R. and Marie (Kokos) Hall. He was happily retired after working as a heavy equipment mechanic with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 66, of which he was a proud member for 55 years.  He also honorably served in the United States Army, where he was stationed at Fort Knox from 1960-1962.  He enjoyed fishing and camping, as well as attending his grandsons’ baseball games.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved partner, Carol Fawcett, with whom he spent 20 happy years; his stepson Patrick Fawcett, brothers Ralph and Kenneth Hall, and sisters Melva Skena and June Scanlon.  Duke is survived by his stepdaughter Amy O’Brien of Monongahela, grandsons Christopher and Chase O’Brien of Monongahela and Cayde Fawcett of Pittsburgh, great-grandsons Christopher O’Brien III, Chase O’Brien Jr, and Nixon O’Brien, all of Monongahela, and one sister Jean (Norm) Erkel of Pittsburgh.

There will be no visitation. Interment will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies on April 2nd at 1:00pm.  Arrangements are entrusted to Kegel Funeral Home, Inc. in Finleyville.  Memorial donations can be made to the Monongahela Library 813 W. Main St. Monongahela, PA 15063
