George R. Simmons
George R. Simmons, 97, of Finleyville died Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Jefferson Hills Borough.
He was born November 28, 1920 in Library; a son of John and Mary McQuisten Simmons.
Mr. Simmons was retired as a welder with the former Fisher Body Works in West Mifflin.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII, enjoyed horseback riding, and was a member of Henry M. Phillips Lodge 337 F & A.M. in Monongahela.
Surviving is a daughter, Georgann Baumgardner and husband Gary of Finleyville; three granddaughters, Kristy (Mike) Guappone, Rachel (Tony) Cecchini and Heather (Roland) Leonguerrero; six great grandchildren, Violet, Anna, Lori, Anthony, Katie and Andrew; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased is his wife, Ann Ambrogi Simmons, who died in November of 2008, a daughter, Lorraine Huff; five brothers and a sister.
Friends will be received from 1-4 P.M. Sunday, April 29, 2008 at Kegel Funeral Home, Inc., Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, David P. Kegel, director, 3560 Washington Avenue, Finleyville, where services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Sunday afternoon. Private interment will be held in Jefferson Memorial Park in Pleasant Hills.
