Loving husband and father, Henry B. Lassige, Sr., 85, of Finleyville, passed away Friday September 5, 2025, peacefully at home.
He was born June 15, 1940, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Henry and Sarah Lassige, and a grandson of Hungarian immigrants. He was raised in Homestead and Bethel Park and graduated from Bethel Park High School in 1958. He furthered his studies in the field of electronics.
Henry started his career in electronics at Children’s Hospital before founding his own company in 1974, Alpha Video and Electronics Company (AVEC), based in Carnegie. AVEC was a family based business that specialized in audio-video sales and services, later focusing on building of ENG TV-trucks.
Henry was an avid horseman, riding and raising horses throughout his childhood and into his late 70’s. He competed competitively as a team-roper. He was a member of the U.S. Team Roping Championships organization. He was a longtime member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, where he served as a Eucharistic minister along with other functions.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Mary Ann (Miller) Lassige, children; Henry Jr. (Marianne), Brian, Michelle (John), two granddaughters; Angelique and Alexandria, one great-granddaughter; Scarlett, sisters-in-law; Donna Lassige and Lois Miller, and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are his brother Terance Lassige and sister Karen Luma, as well as his brothers-in-law, Kenneth Luma and William Miller Jr.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8pm Wednesday at Kegel Funeral Home, Inc., David P. Kegel, Supervisor 3560 Washington Avenue Finleyville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Thursday at St. Francis of Assisi Church (St. John XXIII Parish) with interment following in Finleyville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
