Janet Donovan

Janet Donovan, 85, of Finleyville, passed away Sunday August 18, 2024.

She was born August 29, 1938 in Gastonville, a daughter of the late James and Beatrice Donovan.

Janet retired from Bethel Park School District, where she worked for over 35 years as an administrative assistant to numerous Superintendents.   She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Finleyville where she was active in the Lady’s Guild and Christian Mothers.  She was an avid photographer, enjoyed flowers and was a social butterfly, who regularly kept in touch with family, friends and former classmates.

Surviving are her brother; James (Rose Marie) Donovan of Courtney, nieces and nephews; Michael (Cynthia), Michelle (Patty), Denise (Leo), David (Kelly) and Joseph (Kerrianne), and many great nieces, great nephews, numerous cousins and one great-great nephew.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8pm Wednesday Kegel Funeral Home, Inc. David P. Kegel, Supervisor 3560 Washington Avenue Finleyville.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am Thursday in St. Francis of Assisi Church (St. John XXIII Parish) with Father Richard Tusky as celebrant.  Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park.  Memorial donations can be made to the ALS Foundation (www.als.org) or American Diabetes Assoc.
