John Kikel, Jr.

John F. Kikel, Jr., 88, of Finleyville, passed away Wednesday April 8, 2026, at home.

He was born December 22, 1937, a son of the late John and Stella Kikel.

John was retired from General Electric Nuclear Division in San Jose California, where he worked as a Senior Quality Representative.  He was a parishioner at St. Francis of Assisi Church and served as a Sargent in the U.S. Army’s 101st Airborne Division Screaming Eagles.  John was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, camping and golf. 

Surviving are his wife; Vivian Kikel, three sons; John (Diana) Kikel, Jeffrey (Donna) Kikel and Russell (Terry) Kikel, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one brother; David Kikel and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are two sisters; Beverly Very and Sharon Yost.

Visitation will be held from 3-7pm Tuesday April 14 in Kegel Funeral Home, Inc., David P. Kegel, Supervisor 3560 Washington Avenue Finleyville, followed by a Funeral Mass 10am Wednesday April 15 in St. Francis of Assisi Church (St. John XXIII Parish) 3609 Washington Avenue Finleyville.  Everyone is asked to meet directly at church.  Private inurnment will be held in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.  Memorial donations can be made to the Screaming Eagle Foundation.
