John H. Olds

            John H. Olds, 69, of Finleyville, formerly of Rochester, NY, died Friday, March 3, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

            He was born June 6, 1947 in Richmond, VA; a son of Willie Mae Briggs Olds of Finleyville and the late Richard A. Olds.

            Mr. Olds was retired as a technical writer with Westinghouse Computer Engineering.

            He was a member of the Democratic National Committee, Wildlife Protection Association and the NRA.

            Surviving, in addition to his mother, is a daughter, Rashona Sullivan and her husband Patrick of Aurora, IL, two brothers, Fred Olds of Penn Hills and Frank Olds of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Juanita Brown of Pittsburgh and Susie Olds; two grandchildren, John Michael and Lydia Sullivan; and many nieces and nephews.

            Deceased, in addition to his father, are three brothers, Richard, Howard and Harvey Olds.

            At the request of the deceased there will be no public visitation.

            Friends will be received on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 10 A.M. until 11:00 A.M., the time of a memorial service, at Kegel Funeral Home, Inc., 3560 Washington Avenue, in Finleyville.  Private inurnment will be in Allegheny Cemetery in Pittsburgh.  Memorial contributions can be made to SETI Institute, 189 Bernardo Avenue, Suite 200, Mountain View, CA  94043.
