Louis "Buggs" Kernen

Louis “Buggs” Kernen, 94, of Venetia, passed away Thursday March 19, 2026, at home.

He was born December 1, 1931, in Venetia, a son of the late Louis and Leah Kernen.

Buggs retired from Columbia Gas Company where he worked as a laborer.  He was a member of Wright’s UM Church in Venetia, enjoyed gardening, baseball, hockey, carpentry, vintage radio show, listening to the radio and music and sitting on his porch.  He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

Surviving are one son; Daniel (Catherine) Kernen, one daughter; Kathy Jo Kernen, one granddaughter and four great grandchildren.

Deceased are his wife Rebecca “Becky” Kernen, one son; Louis Kernen Jr. and two sisters.

Private interment will be held in Finleyville Cemetery.  A memorial service will be held 11am Saturday April 11, 2026 in Wrights UM Church.  Memorial donations can be made to Wrights UM Church 788 Venetia Rd Venetia, PA 15367.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Kegel Funeral Home, Inc., in Finleyville.
