Mary Ellen Cicci, 77, of Finleyville, passed away Saturday July 13, 2024 at home.
She was born November 14, 1946 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late John and Ellen Shade.
Mary Ellen was owner of the Mary Ellen Shades School of Dance in Brentwood. Her students were her life and she prided herself in dedicating over 50 years of teaching. She was a member of the Keystone Canine Club where she participated in many classes and trials with her Golden Retriever Oliver, training him to be a therapy dog to visit with children and the elderly in nursing homes. Mary Ellen entered and won many awards at the Washington County Fair for her plants, flowers and vegetables.
Surviving are her husband Geroge Cicci, one son; George (Rachel) Cicci of Morgantown, one daughter; Margo (John) Cicci-Wisniewski of West Mifflin, one granddaughter; Eva Cicci, siblings; Jeffrey, Eileen and Ann, many nieces and nephews and her faithful companion Oliver.
Deceased are her brother Johnny and sister Peggy.
Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Tuesday and 2-4 and 6-8pm Wednesday in Kegel Funeral Home, Inc. David P. Kegel, Supervisor 3560 Washington Avenue Finleyville. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am Thursday in St. Francis of Assis Church (St. John XXIII Parish) 3609 Washington Avenue Finleyville, with interment following in Finleyville Cemetery.
