Nannie K. Carr
Nannie K. “Aunt Nannie” Carr, of Penn Hills, formerly of East Liberty, passed on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at the age of 101.
She was born May 14, 1916 in Finleyville; a daughter of Henry and Julia Belcher Reid.
Mrs. Carr was a homemaker.
She served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of First Baptist Church in Finleyville.
Surviving are two nieces, Carole Wilson of Monongahela and Paulette (Alvin) Floyd of Richmond, VA; a special and beloved grand-niece, Lisa Keith of Monongahela as well as several other grand-nieces and nephews; three nephews, James Coleman (Carol) of Canonsburg and Victor Carr (Charlene) of Greensboro, NC, and Ethbert Carr (Caroline) of TN; a cousin, Hazel Belcher of Washington, D.C.; a sister-in-law, Juanita Carr of Ford City; and very dear friends at Sterling House in Penn Hills.
Deceased is her husband, Wesley Carr, who died March 14, 2011.
At the request of the deceased there will be no public visitation. Private interment will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Kegel Funeral Home, Inc., Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, David P. Kegel, director, in Finleyville.
