Paul R. Owens, Sr.

            Paul R. Owens, Sr., 83, of Finleyville passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at his home.

            He was born May 6, 1934 in Pittsburgh; a son of George and Agnes Ormond Owens.

            Mr. Owens was retired as the owner of the former Pro Cleaners in McMurray and the former Value Cleaners in Finleyville.

            He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Finleyville, a charter and 50 year life member of the McMurray Rotary Club, and a team captain of K’s Angels of Relay for Life.

            Surviving are his wife, Joan Krieger Owens, three sons, David Owens (Debra) of South Park, Donald Owens (Marybeth) of Lewis Center, OH and Thomas Owens (Lisa) of Finleyville; two daughters, Joan Waxman (Rocky) of South Park and Diane Lucci of Finleyville; four brothers, George Owens of Castle Shannon, A. Robert Owens of Coral Gables, FL, Samuel Owens of Pittsburgh and Anthony Owens of Maryland; two sons-in-law, Nicholas Levinsky and Donald Henze, Jr., both of Finleyville; a daughter-in-law Carolyn Owens of Cheswick; sixteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

            Deceased are a son, Paul Owens, Jr., two daughters, Kathleen Levinsky and Karen Henze, a brother, James Owens, a grandson, Ryan William Owens, and stepmother, Josephine Owens.

            Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Thursday and Friday at Kegel Funeral Home, Inc., Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, David P. Kegel, director, 3560 Washington Avenue, in Finleyville.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 3, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Finleyville, with Reverend Robert J. Boyle as celebrant.  Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Monongahela.  Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
