Richard R. Grove Sr, 77, of Finleyville, passed away
peacefully Friday, May 9th, 2025. He was born October
11th, 1947, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Carl and
Carmella (Matz) Grove. Rich was a graduate of
Monongahela High School and received his bachelor’s
degree in business from Point Park University of
Pittsburgh. He was employed for several years at U.S.
Steel and 33 years with Equitable Gas Company, from
which he retired. He served 12 years in the PA Army
National Guard participating in several state emergency’s
to include the Johnstown floods. Upon retirement Rich
and his wife Debbie lived in Bradenton, FL and
Martinsburg, WV returning to Finleyville, PA several years
ago. He was an avid hunter and greatly enjoyed all
outdoor activities including hiking many of the eastern
and western National and State Parks. He is Survived by
his wife Debbie Grove; His Sister Donna (Grove) Spaziani;
His son, Richard R. Grove Jr; a daughter, Rachel Allison
Grove; step son Michael Brennan; four grandchildren,
Nikole M. (Grove) Kurtz, Michael T. Grove, Rylan Brennan
and Mason Brennan; and three great-grandchildren,
Logan and Karsyn Kurtz and Addilyn Grove. Several nieces
and nephews also survive. Rich will be greatly missed by his friends and family. He was a deeply private person and
the family will honor his wishes with regards to the
handling of his passing.
