Richard D. Jurofcik, Sr.
Richard D. ‘Rick’ Jurofcik, Sr., 69, of Finleyville was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 17, 2021
He was born November 1, 1951 in New Eagle; a son of the late John, Jr. and Clara O’Hara Jurofcik.
Rick was retired as a supervisor at the Clairton Works of U.S. Steel Corporation. Upon retirement he worked for Lawson Excavating and R&B Construction.
He was a member and active volunteer of St. Francis of Assisi Church for 45 years and operating engineers Local 66 in Pittsburgh.
Rick will always be remembered by everyone who knew him for his gentle spirit, wonderful sense of humor and willingness to help anyone in need. He took pride in keeping a 2 mile stretch of Finleyville-Elrama road free from litter for the past 7 years. He enjoyed golf and walking when he was not with three grandchildren, his greatest joy. Rick and his wife Mary Jane took pride in instilling in their five children Christian moral values and emphasizing love of neighbor
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Mary Jane Marcoux Jurofcik; a daughter, Kelly High (Scott) of Mt. Lebanon four sons, Richard ‘Rick’ Jurofcik, Jr. (Bethany) of Finleyville, Adam Jurofcik of Mt. Lebanon, Eric Jurofcik (Nikole) of South Park and Joseph Jurofcik (Cameron) of Bethel Park; a brother and best friend, John Jurofcik III of Monongahela; three grandchildren, Savannah, Ricky III and Beau; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased is his first wife, Eileen Gavala Jurofcik, who died in January of 1976.
Friends will be received from 2-8 P.M. Friday at Kegel Funeral Home, Inc., Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, David P. Kegel, director, 3560 Washington Avenue in Finleyville. Rosary will be recited at 6pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am Saturday, May 22, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Finleyville with Father John Gudewicz as celebrant. Private interment will be held at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in McMurray. Memorial donations can be made to the Finleyville Food Pantry, 3539 Washington Avenue Finleyville, 15332
