Roy J. Fagan
Roy J. Fagan, 87, of Finleyville died Friday, July 21, 2017 at his home.
He was born June 8, 1930 in Pittsburgh; a son of Thomas and Velma McConnell Fagan.
Mr. Fagan was retired as a substation operator for Duquesne Light Company in Scott Twp.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and was a member of Mingo Presbyterian Church in Finleyville, American Legion Post 613 in Finleyville, V.F.W. Post 1409 in Monongahela, Mon Valley Honor Guard and Firing Squad, Mon Valley Leathernecks, Marine League of Washington and Friendly Square Dancers Club.
Mr. Fagan had served as a Cub and Boy Scout leader and served as chairman of the building authority for the former Ginger Hill School.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Andrzejewski Fagan; three sons, Daniel Fagan (Mary Lee) of Florence, KY, Roy Fagan, Jr. of Clairton and David Fagan of Moon Twp.; two sisters, Velma Mangan and Barbara Fagan, both of North Braddock; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a brother, Orville Fagan, and three sisters, Sadie Revers, Janice Watts and Isabella Fagan.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Sunday at Kegel Funeral Home, Inc., Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, David P. Kegel, director, 3560 Washington Avenue, in Finleyville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 24, 2017 at Mingo Presbyterian Church, 561 Mingo Church Road, Finleyville, with Pastor Glen McClelland officiating. Everyone please meet at the church Monday morning. Interment will follow in Mingo Cemetery with full military accorded by Mon Valley Honor Guard. Condolences to kegelfuneralhome.com.
