Sherman 'Doc' Fitch

Sherman R. ‘Doc’ Fitch, 84, of New Eagle passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023.  Born on November 19, 1938 he was the son of the late Sherman and Bertha (Leonard) Fitch. 

He was a salesman at the former Finleyville Furniture Store and later was the owner and CEO of Wolfgang Timber.  He loved college football, especially Penn State, and was an avid golfer and a member of Nemacolin Country Club. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Finleyville. 

Doc is survived by his brother, Tom Fitch, of Gastonville; sister, Nancy McIlvaine, of Bentleyville; nephews, Paul McIlvaine, of Bentleyville and Scott (Michelle) McIlvaine, of Charleroi; niece, Leah Fitch, of Finleyville; cousin, Jon Maddock, of Chicago; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. 

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a brother-in-law, Carl McIlvaine. 

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Monday, June 12, 2023 in the KEGEL FUNERAL HOME, 3560 Washington Ave., Finleyville, David P. Kegel, Supervisor.  Funeral services will be at 11 AM on Tuesday in the funeral home with interment following in Finleyville Cemetery.
