Stephen G. Mahlberg Sr.

Stephen G. Mahlberg Sr., 75, of Finleyville, died Wednesday June 19, 2024, at home.

            He was born December 28, 1948 in Council Bluff Iowa, a son of the late John “Bud” Mahlberg and June McPherson Mahlberg of Portland Oregon.

            Steve was retired from Consol and Bethlehem Mines.  He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War where he was a MP in Germany.  He was a member of American Legion Post 613 in Finleyville and was a former little league baseball coach.

            Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife of 54 years Imogene Costello Mahlberg, one son, Steve Mahlberg Jr. of Finleyville, siblings: Shelly Shaw, Patrick Mahlberg and Michael Mahlberg of Oregon, Debbie Demain of Texas and John Mahlberg of Arizona and numerous nieces and nephews.

            As per Steve’s wishes there will be no public visitation. Private interment will be held in Finleyville Cemetery.  Memorial donations can be made to a Veteran’s charity of the donors choice.
