Tim P. Kegel
Tim P. Kegel, 63, of Finleyville died Saturday May 22, 2021 at his home.
He was born September 25, 1957 in New Eagle, a son of the late Arvin L. Kegel and Irene Glaser Kegel Allridge of Finleyville.
Tim was owner and Supervisor of Kegel Funeral Home Inc. in Finleyville. He was a licensed Funeral Director since February of 1990, working 10 years for his predecessor before purchasing the business in July 1999. He was a life member of 45 years with the Finleyville Volunteer Fire Department, where he served in many capacities including President and Fire Chief. Tim was the current President of Council for Finleyville Borough, Treasurer for both the Sons of American Legion Post 613 and Finleyville Cemetery Company. He also served as Chief Deputy Coroner for Washington County for over 25 years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Finleyville.
Tim will be remembered for his kindness and compassion he showed to everyone he met, especially the families he had the pleasure to serve at his funeral home. He was the best to tell a story and even if you heard it 100 times you still looked forward to hearing it again from him. If he wasn’t around the funeral home, you could expect to find him sitting on his porch, a bench around town or behind the wheel of the antique fire engine. Finleyville has lost a legend, a piece of the puzzle is now gone forever but he wouldn’t want us to mourn. Have a beer or a smoke in his memory. Thank You T.K for everything, we love you and will miss you!
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife; Denise Rucker Kegel, a Son David (Amanda) Kegel of Finleyville, step-father Russ Allridge of Finleyville, a step-sister Sherry (Tom) Blaskovich of Finleyville, brother in law Dave Kreutzer of Finleyville and several nieces, nephew, cousins and everyone he called “friend”. Deceased in addition to his father is his step-sister JoAnn Kreutzer.
Friends will be received from 6-8pm Tuesday May 25 and from 2-4 and 6-8pm Wednesday May 26 at Kegel Funeral Home Inc. Tim P. Kegel, Supervisor David P. Kegel, Director, 3560 Washington Avenue in Finleyville. Funeral Services will be held 11am Thursday May 27, 2021 in his funeral home. Interment will follow in Finleyville Cemetery. Finleyville Vol. Fire Dept. and Sons of American legion will both conduct services Wednesday evening at 7pm. Memorial contributions can be made to Finleyville Vol. Fire Department, 3562 Washington Ave, Finleyville or First Presbyterian Church of Finleyville, 3595 Washington Ave, Finleyville.
