Walter R. Gerhold

            Walter R. Gerhold, 74, of Venetia died Saturday, July 29, 2017 in Canonsburg General Hospital in North Strabane Township.

            He was born May 22, 1943 in Venetia; a son of the late Raymond and Edna Hultz Gerhold.

            Mr. Gerhold was retired as a quality inspector with Bombardier Transportation in West Mifflin.

            He was a member of Wright’s Methodist Church in Venetia and enjoyed all Pittsburgh sports, working on his farm, traveling to Florida and especially spending time with his family.

            Surviving are his wife, Bonnie McClintock Gerhold; a son, James Gerhold and his wife Michelle of Venetia; a daughter, Tami Baumgarten and her husband Ken of Venetia; three grandchildren, Azlynn Gerhold and Mason and Samantha Baumgarten; and his close friend, ‘Boots’.

            Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at Kegel Funeral Home, Inc.,  Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, David P. Kegel, director, 3560 Washington Avenue, Finleyville, where services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 3, 2017 with Pastor Michael Chambers officiating.  Interment will follow in Brush Run Cemetery in Venetia.  Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one’s choice.  Condolences to kegelfuneral.com.
