Wayne L. Carter

Wayne L. Carter, 79, of Finleyville, passed away Monday October 13, 2025, in AHN Jefferson Hospital.

He was born March 2, 1946, in Lexington Va, a son of the late William and Elsie Carter.

Wayne was self-employed in construction and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War.

Surviving are three sons; Wayne (Julie) Carter Jr., Gregory (Alison) Coffey and Dylan (Sandy) Carter, one daughter; Chelsea (Tyler) Elliott, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two brothers; Terry and Donny McGowan and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased is his brother Chuck McGowan.

Arrangements are private and under direction of Kegel Funeral Home, Inc. in Finleyville.  Memorial donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
