William ‘Bill’ Acheson, 90, of South Park passed away peacefully on Monday, April 7, 2025 in the comfort of his home. Born on November 20, 1934 in Bethel Park, he was the son of the late Walter and Naomi (Walker) Acheson.
He was a heavy equipment operator for the Operating Engineers Local 66 (74 years) and was a member of the Son’s of the American Legion in Okeechobee, FL (30 years), and the Finleyville Moose (46 years).
Bill is survived by his wife of 48 years, Theresa (Zimmerman) Acheson; children, Lauren Beers (Frank Scharbo), Christine White, Michael (Joanna) Corace, and Jessica Lockhart; grandchildren, Angel (Nikko) Lockhart, Isabella Lockhart, Jainell Dillard, Darnell Dillard, Chantel Dillard, Eric White and Erin (Steve) Romary; great-grandchildren, Owen and Vivian White and Hannah and Bennett Romary; sister, Debra (John) Duncan; brother, Kurt (Mary) Acheson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a daughter, Jamie Lockhart; and siblings, James Acheson, Bonnie Snyder, and Eugene Fosbaugh.
Friends will be received from 1 to 4 pm, the time of family services on Wednesday, April 9 at the Kegel Funeral Home.
