Willie Mae Olds

            Ms. Willie Mae Olds, 96, of Finleyville, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020 at UPMC-East Hospital in Monroeville.

            She was born May 18, 1923 in Steens, MS; a daughter of Robert and Juanita Brown Briggs.

            Ms. Olds was retired as a nurse’s aide at the former Western State Hospital in Canonsburg and also had been employed at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh.

            She was a graduate of Hardy Bluff School and a member and Deaconess of First Baptist Church in Finleyville.

            Ms, Olds enjoyed bowling with fellow members of the Finleyville GoldenAgers group as well as sewing and canning fruits and vegetables,  but mostly enjoyed farming, cutting grass and planting flowers.

            She was a God fearing lady who put her Lord first above all things and encouraged all to have a relationship with Christ.  Her favorite spiritual song was “He's Sweet, I Know”.

            Surviving are two sons, Fred Olds of Penn Hills and Frank Olds of Pittsburgh; two daughters, Juanita Brown of Penn Hills and Susie Olds of Ohio; eleven grandchildren, Juanita III, Shawn, Charles, Aaron, Tiona, Fred, Jr., Harvey, Jr., Dana, Jala, Rashona and Sonya; and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

            Deceased are her husband, Richard Alfonso Olds, Sr; five sons, Richard, Jr., John, Harvey, Harry and Howard Olds; six brothers, Rob, Roy, Frank, Link, LA and Archie Briggs; and six sisters, Hattie Craddieth, Ruby Hargo, Eva Owens, Nettie Scott, Callie Ewing and Minnie Owens.

            Friends will be received at on Friday, May 22, 2020 from 9-10 A.M. for viewing, with funeral services beginning at 10:00 A.M., which will be streamed, live via Facebook.com/KegelFuneralHomeInc, at Kegel Funeral Home, Inc., Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, David P. Kegel, director, 3560 Washington Avenue, in Finleyville.  Private interment will be held in Allegheny Cemetery in Pittsburgh.  Memorial contributions can be made to the family c/o Juanita Brown, 724 Churchill Avenue, Penn Hills, PA  15235.
